Driving Miss Eden

In the country, children learn to drive at a young age. Eden, I'm sure will be no exception. Here she is with her first try. She decided she loved Shay's blue car. She spent a lot of time trying to drive it. She really loved getting in and out and being pushed around.

This is Eden trying to get in Daisy Duke Style. No more Dukes of Hazard!!!!
climbing, climbing :)

Family Pictures

My dad took these for me this weekend. Here is a good picture of my baby belly. Eden seems to fit just right over the bump.

Happy Birthday Yaya!!!

If Eden knew numbers well enough, she would have called Yaya herself to wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Here is a smile and we're all blowing kisses to wish you the best and happiest birthday ever.

How does this thing work?

Eden loves figuring out how things work. She also enjoys music. These are pictures of her trying to figure out the power and volume switches of her radio. I love the look on her face in the first picture. She's concentrating so hard to figure things out :)

Hide and Seek

Eden has gotten good at hide and seek lately. I let her play in her room while I put away her clean clothes. I turned to look for her because she had gotten quite (always a reason to go looking to see what she's into) and saw her foot sliding under the bed. She is so cute when she comes out and I say peek a boo!!!
I just hope she doesn't find a new hiding spot without me watching her :)

1st family photoshoot

Tonight, I joined my friend Andrea for a family photo shoot. Andrea is a great photographer and has been thinking about getting an assistant. Photography has been a growing passion of mine. I realized with my own wedding pictures that I could do everything my photographer could do. So I started to shoot weddings with my friend Casey as her assistant. I have also taken pictures at friends weddings and made them CD's as gifts. That's a perfect gift. Who doesn't like pictures of their own wedding? :)

After we moved to Williamston, I upgraded to a DSLR camera and have enjoying the added features and speed that a SLR camera has to offer. I'm still learning the ins and outs of editing and lighting, but think I want to continue to pursue this as a side job. I think it's a great outlet, and I can work it around Eden's schedule. Now, I want to upgrade to a nicer lens and flash. This is an expensive hobby!!

Weddings and family photography are so different. As an assistant for weddings it's all about capturing the details. Great shots of the dress, lace, shoes, flowers, rings and programs are easily posed and captured and can be done as needed. The additional shots are of the guest having fun. You try to stand back and capture moments as they happen. You also get shots of the wedding, but that happens so fast it's over before you know it. You only get one shot at weddings.

Photographing families is much less stressful. The couple tonight was so nice. Their little boy was lots of fun. Easy smiles came with lots of energy, so posing had to be directed but also had to go with moods and energy levels. Overall, I think I would like the personal interaction that you develop with family photography.
For now, I love the idea of being an assistant. I don't have the pressure of being the pro, but I get to have fun and continue learning. Plus I couldn't lay on my big baby belly like Andrea did in the shot above if I had to. Just the thought makes me laugh.
Anyways, I love the pictures above and wanted to share what's rattling around in my mind.
Andrea, Thanks for asking me to join along. I really enjoy learning and look forward to working with you in the future.

Baptism

Larry had the prividlge to baptise a new church member this past Sunday. It was a real special moment for both Larry and Chris, the man who was baptised. We can see that the Lord is working in Larry's ministry and hope this is just the first of many who will come to know the Lord.

Walking Tall

Eden has gotten good at walking lately. Here are two shots of her walking at home and at the park. I'll try to take a video of her later today and post it. If I can't post it, Andrea said I could go over to her house (She has high speed internet) and I'll post it from there.
