Every Boy needs a dog

We have a great old dog named Max. He is beginning to warm up to Josiah. He does a great job protecting Josiah and often time I find him sleeping beside his and Eden's cribs at night. He goes back and forth all night long watching them both.

You smell like carrots and milk Josiah

Don't pull the fur... Don't pull the fur!

Josiah thinks he can climb up Max

If I could just get a little closer!

Do you hear anything?

Eden was watching her favorite show, Dora the Explorer. She seems oblivious to Josiah crying.
So Funny!

Pool time

This was Josiah's first time in a pool. Unfortuantly, it was to close to nap time.
Amy got a chance to hold him while he took a little cap nap. She's such a big help!

What a week!

Our Church hosted VBS this week, and I was the director. This was the first time I've directed a VBS and it was a learning experience for me. We did Group's Rome: Paul and the Underground Church. I highly recommend it. It was the most biblically based curriculum we found. The music was upbeat, the teaching was hands on, and the children and adults really seemed to enjoy themselves.
Our sanctuary became a Roman Coliseum, our Fellowship Hall became an exotic Marketplace, a small classroom became a Cave for the underground church to meet. Paul was Jailed in our Prayer Garden and we had an Animal Sacrifice Sales Booth on Thursday. Our Church went all out for this and it was AWESOME!!
I have to brag on our church for a minute. This was way outside of the norm for them. The curriculum was very different, and the classes were age integrated. They were really unsure about what Larry and I were leading them into. By the end of the week they loved it. I feel like this was a great learning experience for Larry and I, as well as the adults at Reddicks Grove. All this hard work helped grow us together, build trust and continue to grow friendships.
We averaged around 100 each night. Only God knows how many seeds we planted, watered, and when He will reap the harvest from the work done this week. I am so happy to have been a part of this. Now I'm looking forward to a few days of rest!
I also need to say a great big Thank You to Larry's Mom and Dad. They came to help with Eden and Josiah. I would not have been able to do this week without their help. I love you both and am so grateful for all that you did!
A secret message

My favorite Roman soldier :)
Dramas took place each night while the children were in the Marketplace and at Rec

We set up a Roman Coliseum in the Sanctuary.
So Awesome!

We had an Animal Sacrifice Sales Night on Thursday.
The children were taught how animals were sacrificed to pay for our sins. Thankfully, Jesus paid for all our sins. Now we can have animals as pets instead of payment.

Paul and his guards.
Paul shared each night from jail. He told stories of his life and love for Jesus.
The children sat amazed each night at Paul's teaching!
This was one of the best aspect of Rome.
