The Lady Bug

Fishing for Treats
Blue eyes and ladybug spots

Thirsty Ladybug
We took Eden to a Fall Festival and then to a few church members' homes to trick or treat. I was proud of how well she behaved. She kept the hood part of her outfit on, which was suprising considering how much she hates having things on her head and in her hair.
She was the cutest Ladybug I have ever seen :)

Big Red Ball

Miss Dot gave Eden this big Red ball yesterday. Eden loves chasing it around. She likes to take it outside. Here she's trying to get me to understand she wants to go out the door with it :)

Eden's Kitty Cats

Eden loves playing with the kittens. She would put them in the swing with her if we would let her. Sampson might even like it.

Walking with Daddy

There are sweet times in life that if you could just pause a moment and capture the feelings of love and happiness you would. Tonight was one of those nights for me. I was able to capture the love that Eden and Larry share and it just made my heart soar. There was a look of love and pride on Larry's face as he walked with Eden. Eden just wanted to go, go go, explore and see what she could get into. She felt safe exploring while holding her Daddy's hand. It melts a mother's heart and makes me fall deeper in love with Larry. We are so abundantly blessed!

Just a swingin'

Eden loves spending time with her Daddy. After dinner we all went outside to enjoy the nice weather and Eden got a little swing time.

Little Lady

Eden found a purse I was going to sale in the yard sale. She has taken to it and loves to carry it around like a little lady. I guess I'm not going to sale it afterall.

Daily Visitors

Eden gets a daily visit from the kittens. They either meet at the front glass door or as seen here at the back kitchen window. Sampson would love to be an inside cat and rubs all over the screen trying to get Eden to pet him. They are so cute together. Eden has started to look for them each morning. In this picture, I think she was going to try to read Sampson a book.

Sickness in the Garden

Please pray for us, as all 3 Gilbreaths are a little under the weather. Larry has been fighting a sinus infection, Eden is dealing with allergies/ pink eye and I am dealing with all day sickness.

This experience has taught me how important family is and reminds me how difficult it is to live so far away from my own Mama. I know it sounds weird, but as a grown married woman and a mother myself, I still want my Mom when I'm sick.

However I know that times like these are purposeful. It is the means that God has used to show us how He has has blessed us with a wonderful church family. Being so sick and dealing with a sick baby has been difficult, but our church family has been so good to us. Mary, which we call Mimi, came and took care of Eden today so Larry could take me to the doctors. I had some blood test done, but the doctor was not to concerned. This too shall pass. Our son's heart beat sounded great, and I'm measuring right on target. I gained 2 pounds this past month, so I'm not losing weight, which is good.

Eden is pitiful. She woke up Sunday with blood shot eyes, and a runny nose. I was afraid that she had pink eye. So I called the doctor's office who saw her right away. I thought that was great especially on a Sunday morning. The doctor said she did have pink eye but not the kind that you would think of in nurseries. He thought she was having an allergic reaction to something. I had just taken her to a field of wild flowers for pictures. He also mentioned that the pesticides in the farming communities is bad on small children. We have a cotton field on the other side of the church that was just sprayed. So I'm not sure what to think. If she's not better by tomorrow, she is supposed to go back for another check up.

On the bright side, this has been a good time of cuddling. Eden loves to cuddles when she doesn't feel good.

Maternity Shoot

As an added bonus for shooting the Bundle boo shots (see post below), Andrea told me about a nearby field of flowers that we could go take some pictures. It was beautiful!!! So I got an impromptu maternity shoot. Good thing I was wearing purple, it looked great with the flowers. I love how the pictures look. I hope we can go back again next week and take some more. It was getting a little late in the morning, the sun was high (not good for pictures), and Eden was getting tired. I would love to put Eden in a cute dress and put a bow in her hair. Have her look a little more girly :)

Here is a link to Andrea's flickr account that has the shoot. Enjoy :)

Super Models :)

Eden and I got to be models today :)

My friend Andrea is a great photographer and she was looking for moms to photograph using a baby sling called a Bundle Boo. She thought it would be interesting to show a pregnant mom and asked if I would be interested.

Now I must admit I'm not a natural when it comes to baby wearing. I thought with my big baby bump (I'm a week shy of 6 months pregnant) that it might not be comfortable. I was wrong, wearing Eden was suprisingly comfortable.

We shot two different wraps and I liked them both. There are numerous different ways to wear your baby. Andrea had to help me get Eden tied up. I wore Eden on my back and my front. She fit just right on my baby bump. The first position we tried on my back was the most comfortable. I could have worn Eden like that for hours.

Eden liked it more than I thought she would. She was a little nervous at first because I've only worn her a few times. After the initial minute of , hey mom, what are we doing?, She relaxed and did really well. A few times she squirmed, but I was never afraid of her falling out. I didn't have to keep my hands on her at all. It was much easier to wear her than to carry her. She weighs about 22 lbs now. One of the things I really liked about this wrap is that there are holes for her legs and a built in seat area, so I knew where to put her.

I'm really looking forward to wearing our son. I wish I would have known more about baby wearing when Eden was little.

Thanks Andrea, we had lots of fun!

Nap Time

Funny Story for today....

I laid Eden down for a nap and thought she would just fall asleep like usual. Larry came home to have lunch. Everything as usual...or so I thought. Then we both heard her laughing and talking to herself. She sounded like she was having such a good time. So, I walked in to see what she thought was so funny. She was standing in her crib smiling so big.....She was butt naked!!! Her diaper was on the floor and her shirt and sheets were wet. I had mistakenly thought that she would sleep more comfortably if she wasn't wearing her jeans. Her laughter was from the freedom from her diaper. She was so pleased with herself for taking off her diaper and was running around in her crib. I guess the cool air on bare skin was a great sensation.

Needless to say, she had a middle of the day bath and was put in a zip up outfit so she could not get to her diaper again. Larry said, Look on the bright side, at least she didn't poop :)
