Mama said there'll be days like this!

The lyrics, Mama said there'll be days like this, There'll be days like this Mama said. Ran through my head all day. All 3 kids have colds and Titus didn’t sleep well. So I was behind the eight ball just starting my day. Most days I try to maintain some kind of balance. Yeah, that didn't happen today.

It started this morning when Josiah ran into the living room with scissors and said, “I cut my hair!” Which thank God he didn’t, but he sure scared me. He climbed the potty to get into the cabinet, got the scissors, Then he ran with them. And as we all know running with scissors is WRONG! But someone forgot to teach Josiah. I guess I'm that someone.

Then I thought I would channel some Michelle Duggar and try to have the kids work and have fun as we washed a play set we were given. It’s one of those hard plastic kind and it was filthy. I figured it would be fun to get the kids outside and get a little wet as we washed it. Needless to say Josiah found the mud puddles much better than washing the house. He was covered in mud instantly. As I was yelling at him to stop jumping in the puddles, because you know those Duggar kids would wash and obey the first time, Eden pushed Titus in the stroller (Because that’s what older siblings do) and somehow she managed to have it fall backwards. No worries, I had Titus strapped in so it just scared the both of them. And me. Lesson learned, stop trying to be the Duggars, and be the Gilbreaths!

After nap time (when only Titus slept) We started to do some coloring sheets. That’s when Josiah announces,” Momma, I pee peed in my diaper.” To which I replied, “Buddy, your not wearing a diaper, you’re wearing big boy underwear.” He smiles and said, “Momma, I pee peed in my big boy underwear!”

Hoping tomorrow is better!

Friendship

Eden is gettng to the age where she loves having friends to play with. The other day we joined Kelly's family and Eden was able to play with Lydia. It made me smile to see Eden grab Lydia's hand as they ran off to play. The best news is that Kelly's family is about to move even closer to us, so days like these can happen more often.

Dancing with the Sun

This is one of the neatest pictures I've ever taken. I'm still trying to learn how to take pictures into the sun. So I asked Eden to dance for me and started clicking away. I love how it looks like she's holding hands with the sun, touching it, dancing with it. It's gloroius!

Funny faces from a sweet sister :)

3rd times the Charm

Our sweet Titus is growing so fast! He continues to amaze me with his good nature and easy smile. His laughter brings joy to our whole house. Eden and Josiah are able to enjoy him a little more now that he's big enough to handle some of their attention. We have worked hard at teaching SOFT  TOUCHES!

Titus made an excellent travel companion to Florida, but I'm afraid our time there got him off his schedule. Traveling combined with a time change, a cold and a growth spurt have lead to him getting up multiple times a night to eat. I feel a crash course in Baby Wise in our near future. But for now. We're trying to enjoy our middle of the night time together knowing that this sweet age doesn't last long.

Veteran's Day

In an attempt to train our children to be civic minded we took them to a Veteran’s Day Parade and Veteran’s Ceremony. Our hope is that they might gain an understanding that our freedom has come at a high price. For those who have served our country, Thank you!

Josiah with a better view.
It's hard to see things when you're only 3 feet tall.

Ms Heather joined us. Eden had a blast with her.
Thank you Ms. Heather for all your help!

The kids got to see some really awesome things like:
The biggest Tractor we've ever seen.

Guess where we ate for lunch?
                                                            Some really neat old cars.
And Roger and Meme with the wagon.

Learning to be a Man.

I love these photos! They bring me deep down joy that comes from seeing love in action.
You can feel the love that Larry has for his sons in these.
Larry has the awesome responsibility to teach our sons how to be men.
That is not an easy job in our culture.
I am confident that if his sons follow his actions that we will have two amazing men of God in our future.

Jesus Loves Me by Eden, Age 2

I finally put new batteries in my FLIP (video recorder). I'm so happy I did. I laughed as I looked through some of the old videos of Eden and Josiah. I'll post a few here on my blog . I hope you enjoy :)

PawPaw

My Daddy has been on my mind a lot lately. He’s got a lot going on right now and could use your prayers. Here are a few of my favorite pictures of PawPaw during my recent trip to Florida.

PawPaw has his hands full of grandbabies.

Baby Peyton :)

One of the best things about being a grown up is being an Aunt. I can't think of people I would rather spend time with than my siblings and their children. Peyton, or "Baby Peyton", as my children call her, is small in stature, but has a huge personality. She cracks me up with her antics. Abbey and Brian will have their hands full in the near future :)

Peyton loved Titus. She was super sweet with him. She wanted to hold him like her baby doll. She would sit on the couch and pat her lap and chest to let us know she could do it. Being the youngest of three, I figured Titus could handle it and agreed.

 Peyton thinking....
Oh Wow I can't believe they are letting me do this!
Hehehehe. Titus sure moves a lot more than my pink bear does!

Look Aunt Angie! I'm doing it!
OK, I'm done!

Don't worry. Aunt Abbey was able to catch him :)
Way to go with those quick reflexes Abbey!

Out of the mouths of babes

Tonight as we were putting together a turkeys craft, Josiah picks up one of the parts for the hat, (Yes I know turkeys don’t wears hats, but Josiah’s turkey does) Anyways, He said, “Hey Daddy look, it’s a trapezoid!”

Eden asked me for something that her Daddy had just said no to. I told her not to ask me, Daddy had already said no. Daddy and Mommy are on the same team. Eden replied, “Mommy, you don’t play soccer.”

Josiah rushed to the bathroom shrieking. As I was helping him get his pants down a turd fell on the bathroom floor. ( I know this kind of thing never happens at your house right? ) He looked up at me, smiled and said, “That’s Dross! (Gross)” No kidding kid  :)

Bittersweet- Part Two

Bittersweet is how I’ve described my time in Florida the past two visits. During both occasions I was going home to a funeral. Larry drove Titus and me down to South Carolina where he passed us off to my brother and his children for the remaining drive down to Florida. It was hard to be in the car for so long. It’s a 12 hour drive that I get frustrated with. It’s hard to imagine how difficult it was for the three children. But it was the best time I’ve spent with my brother in years. We got to talk about all sorts of things for hours. And the children did a great job traveling. It was fabulous!

We arrived just in time for the visitation. Mind you 5 month prior, we went through the same ritual for my grandmother. It was no surprise to be there. Granddaddy had been struggling with Alzheimer’s for years. The surprise was in that he outlived her.

Saying Goodbye to my grandfather was difficult. He was such a wonderful man of God. I can’t speak highly enough of who he was or the impact he had in my life. As Shannon and Kelly eulogized him, we all knew he was in a much better place. My cousin Casey said, he didn’t know who would be more excited, Grandpa for seeing Jesus or Jesus for seeing Grandpa.

After the funeral, the wonderful part started to happen. Cousins that I grew up with, that I rarely get to see, all went back to Granny and Grandpa’s house. We spent the day together. Then the stories started, memories were shared, old pictures were brought out and the laughter began. All of this took part with our children playing around us. It was such a flashback to how we played when we were children. My Grandparents would have loved to have heard all that laughter in their home. To see the future generation of the Kinsey family.

You see my grandfather was consistent in sharing a passage of Scripture that he claimed as his life verses. He fell in love with these verses when he was Serving in Japan right after the war.

Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD,
who walks in his ways!
You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
around your table.
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
who fears the LORD.
The LORD bless you from Zion!
May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
all the days of your life!
May you see your children’s children!
Peace be upon Israel! Psalm 128

Oh how they would have loved to have seen their children’s children’s children.

My sweet traveling companion. :)

Just to make you smile :)

Doesn't this picture make you heart smile?

These are the most recent additons to the Kinsey family. In the past 6 months we have welcomed ( in order from left to right) Lydia, Cooper, Titus, and Mason. And there will be another additon in January with my nephew Pierce.

It's so wonderful to see all of these children together. I can only imagine how proud my grandparents would be if they could have seen all of these new blessing.

Oh how I would have loved for my granddaddy to lay his hands on Titus and pray a blessing over him as he did all of the other grandchildren and great grandchildren. I would have loved for Granddaddy to meet Titus and know his namesake. Our hope is that the strong character and great faith that my granddaddy displayed  would be evident in Titus.

A few more soccer shots

Here are a few more shots of Eden's soccer team. I love that she's the only girl and the smallest on her team. She might be small, but she sure is fast. She gets that from her Yaya :)

When Larry saw this photo he said, "Wow, she looks just like your mom in this picture." :)
And she gets the wild mouth open look from her Momma!

Josiah, Not happy to sit the bench!
Looking for what to do on the playground.....hmmmm?
 Climbing is a good start.

What should I get into next?
I found the team snacks Momma.
How about I get one first?

Eden's last soccer game

We finished up our first seasons of soccer with Eden on Tuesday night. I'm so happy she was able to play. She had such a good time. This last game they let her play offense. She was fast! Not so accurate, but fast :)AND I'm so happy the season is over. I was surprised how much time it took to get our family ready and out at the field two nights a week.
